Quality Improvement Process
- You may request to attend a FREE orientation session to learn about the program. You may enroll in the quality improvement path, or the accreditation path, or both.
- You must complete the application form online.
- Baseline Rating: A mock assessment will be conducted, and a baseline rating will be provided to your center.
- Staff Training: An orientation session will be held to help your staff learn about the standards, evidence gathering, assessment process, and development of a quality improvement plan.
- Implement Quality Improvement Plan: In this step, you have the opportunity to transform your center and improve the quality of your center by implementing your quality improvement plan, guided by your baseline assessment
- Submit your final Quality Improvement Plan: When you submit your Quality Improvement Plan, you will receive feedback and guidance from your assessor.
- Assessment Visit: Your assessor will set a date to visit your center for a second time, and to measure your progress from your baseline assessment. The assessment visit will include observation of classrooms, environmental evaluation, interviewing director, staff and parents.
- Quality Report: following the assessment visit, your assessor will analyze the information and prepare a Quality Report which highlights your areas of strength and areas that need improvement.
Accreditation Steps

- Accreditation visit (1 to 2 days):
- Observation of teaching in classrooms.
- Evaluation of indoor/outdoor environment.
- Review of evidence and documentation.
- Interview with staff.
- Interview with the manager.
- Interview with parents.
- Tier certification: To celebrate achievement, a TQUK Tier Certification will be awarded to demonstrate the tier achieved by your center.
