Quality Improvement Process

  1. You may request to attend a FREE orientation session to learn about the program. You may enroll in the quality improvement path, or the accreditation path, or both.
  2. You must complete the application form online.
  3. Baseline Rating: A mock assessment will be conducted, and a baseline rating will be provided to your center.
  4. Staff Training: An orientation session will be held to help your staff learn about the standards, evidence gathering, assessment process, and development of a quality improvement plan.
  5. Implement Quality Improvement Plan: In this step, you have the opportunity to transform your center and improve the quality of your center by implementing your quality improvement plan, guided by your baseline assessment
  6. Submit your final Quality Improvement Plan: When you submit your Quality Improvement Plan, you will receive feedback and guidance from your assessor.
  7. Assessment Visit: Your assessor will set a date to visit your center for a second time, and to measure your progress from your baseline assessment. The assessment visit will include observation of classrooms, environmental evaluation, interviewing director, staff and parents.
  8. Quality Report: following the assessment visit, your assessor will analyze the information and prepare a Quality Report which highlights your areas of strength and areas that need improvement.

Accreditation Steps

  3. Accreditation visit (1 to 2 days):
    • Observation of teaching in classrooms.
    • Evaluation of indoor/outdoor environment.
    • Review of evidence and documentation.
    • Interview with staff.
    • Interview with the manager.
    • Interview with parents.
  4. Tier certification: To celebrate achievement, a TQUK Tier Certification will be awarded to demonstrate the tier achieved by your center.
