NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young People’s Services

This qualification provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in health and social care and children and young people’s services. The course has two pathways for those working with children and young people and covers a wide range of topics including • Safeguarding and protection • Managing care services • Supporting development and partnership working • Contributing to broader activities such as change programs and recruitment • Complying with quality systems and continuously improving quality • Developing and carrying out policy • Promoting and developing best practice • Care management. The Management pathway is most suitable for Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for Managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level. The aim of the Children and Young People’s Management pathway is to guide and assess the knowledge and skills relating to the Children and Young People’s senior workforce. If you work in the Children and Young People’s sector in a managerial role, this is the ideal qualification for you. You may be looking to develop your career, possibly into management within the broader context of the Children and Young People’s sector.

The qualification is perfect for those who have stepped up into leadership and management role. Early Years leaders and managers who are looking to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills of leadership and management.
You have up to a year to complete this course.
 Learners must be at least 19 years of age.
 Learners must have a relevant Level 3 qualification, equivalent, or higher in a related area.
 Learner must be working in a leadership or supervisory role (remotely or in-person).
 Learner must pass the General Knowledge Test.
 Learners must have a laptop, an email, and an internet connection.
We are currently offering this course through two learning modes; virtual learning or self-study.

With virtual learning, learners follow a set schedule and attend live group sessions with their instructor and classmates.

With self-study, learners have to study at their own time and work through their assignments at their own pace.

Learners must achieve all assessment criteria and demonstrate their competency in the setting. In order to gain this qualification, the learner will need to:

 Pass all 17 units with their tasks
 Complete 1 research study
 Show competence in a real work environment through direct observation (remotely) or online professional discussion.
